This review is from: Dremel Plunge Router Attachment (DIY & Tools)
I bought this attachment in order to be able to drill perpendicular to a surface. I have difficulty in achieving this with any accuracy when drilling without a stand.
The Dremel attachment was excellent for this purpose. It fitted quickly to the drill and the starting drill protrusion can be adjusted easily into a a fixed position by adding plain washers to the depth setting mechanism. This allows you to use the attachment without locking-off thus making plung-drilling very easy.
All of the above has nothing to do with routing which was the intended purpose of the attachment and, as yet, I have not used it in this role. However, I can report that the attachment is well up to the Dremel high standard and should perform well in its intendeded role as well.
For me, this attachment was an answer to a prayer. Five stars, no question.

Good points:
Does what routers do, only smaller.
The clear plastic base helps you gauge where you are on the workpiece.
The edge/circle guides work well (though you have to nip the screws up surprisingly tightly to stop the guide slipping from where you set it).
Bad Point:
There’s a little too much play on the plunge mechanism, so even when locked off at a certain height the depth of cut can vary slightly, depending on the pressure you exert on the unit. This is ok when you’re doing narrow cuts/single passes, but can produce a slightly uneven bed when doing multiple/overlapping cuts.

Absolutely no good for any kind of precision routing work, exhibits massive amounts of play to the vertical. Table is sloppy and height adjustment continually slips out of its setting. Impossible at times to position spanner on the head due to the layout of the pillars, painfully impractical small hole to push your finger into to lock the collet head. Evidently designed by people who have never used a precision router. Adding the Bosch name to this must be Dremel’s last effort to sell it. Dremel, you should be ashamed of this product.
